First night at the Auburn Journalism Workshop.
After a weary day of traveling to Auburn University, I finally made it. Through two flat tires and a long wait at a gas station outside of Greenville, Alabama I arrive on campus of the Auburn Tigers. At first there were hardly any people there because I had arrived early but gradually the other participants started to trickle in. One person brought a football and we tossed it back and forth for a little while and we also played a little game. We started getting tired so we headed inside to get some water and by then everyone except two people had arrived. At six 'o' clock in the evening we began the seemingly endless trek across Auburn University's campus for the first dinner that we would be having. Along the way we were told a little about the campus that we would be staying for the next five days and by then we had made it to the place where we were to eat. After a great meal of BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, and some delicious pies for dessert we began our first assignment. We were to interview one other person that was in the group of 29 students from various places in the country. After the interviewing was done and we walked all the way back to the dorm that we are staying in, we played another game of football and then settled down in the lobby to watch a movie. After the movie I settled in for the night and slept through the night only to be awoken by my roommate's alarm that he had mistakenly set for an hour early. But all in all, it was a pretty good first night and I met some pretty cool and funny people.
